pAIring features
Models and chat
Section titled “Models and chat”- Model management. Search, browse and download models from Hugging Face with advanced search. Pull recommended defaults to get started, and manage installed models in one place.
- Chat. Streaming replies, attachments (images and documents, up to 5 plus 1 per message), per-chat model switching and generation settings. You can stop a reply mid-stream, and chats are auto-titled.
- Behavior tuning. Temperature, Top-P, Top-K, context window and more. Each user’s values affect only their own chats.
- Notes. Reusable, pinnable notes that shape the system prompt: a persona, rules or a skill. You edit them from the chat header.
- Multi-user. Every user has private conversations that nobody else can see or list.
- Channels. Shared group conversations with instant push, such as a team standup or a class.
- Channel managers. Trusted members can steer a channel’s model, settings and pinned notes without full admin rights.
- Roles. Admin and user roles. Disabling an account keeps its history.
Knowledge and tools
Section titled “Knowledge and tools”- Knowledge base (RAG). Add
.txt,.md,.pdf,.docx,.odt,.rtf,.html,.csvor.jsonfiles. Conversations can search them, and answers cite the document they used. Scopes are private per user or shared, with storage quotas. - Tools (MCP). Admins connect MCP tool servers (streamable HTTP) under Settings → Knowledge → Configure MCP, with encrypted headers and a Test connection button. Users switch Tools on per chat, and each call is shown under the reply. It works with Matricxon and with Ollama models that support tools.
Operations
Section titled “Operations”- Live dashboards. A usage overview, an interactive diagram of the request pipeline, OpenTelemetry data (latency, tokens per second, error rate, loaded models) and CPU, RAM, disk and GPU monitoring.
- Load balancing. Add more engine servers and pAIring spreads requests across them with automatic failover. It can also run several copies behind one URL, or sit behind a reverse proxy.
- Cluster management (BETA). Manage a Matricxon cluster from the Cluster page. Nodes share models and chat caches and agree on membership with Paxos. A live map shows each node’s role and status.
- Connectors. Add support for more engines, such as cloud GPU services. Today there is one connector, for RunPod.
- Guardrails. Risky changes, such as switching the database or external servers, are tested before they are saved. You are told if the running system is out of sync with its config.
- Image generation. Basic text-to-image on the Images page through stable-diffusion.cpp, with progress, cancel and history.
Security
Section titled “Security”- bcrypt password hashing, signed session cookies and login rate limiting.
- Role-based access, with history kept when an account is disabled.
- SQLite by default, with MySQL available and switchable live.
- Outbound HTTP proxy support, with credentials encrypted at rest.
Themes
Section titled “Themes”A theme system covers the whole app. Pick one from Settings or the header and see it instantly.
